Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Scotch Lake, N.B.
West District RCMP responded to a fatal car crash Wednesday evening in Scotch Lake, New Brunswick, west of Fredericton.
Police say the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 63-year-old man from Springfield, N.B., died at the scene due to his injuries. It is believed the car went off the Scotch Lake Road around 7 p.m. and struck a utility pole, according to Cpl. Matt Hansen of the Keswick detachment.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police believe slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
