Canaan Forks Man Charged in Child Pornography Case
A 47-year-old New Brunswick man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into child pornography in Canaan Forks, about 40 kilometres west of Salisbury.
RCMP say an investigation began in September 2017, which culminated in a search warrant being executed at a home in Canaan Forks on Wednesday, February 21. Christopher Mark Lewis was arrested at the scene, and police seized several electronic devices.
Lewis appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Wednesday afternoon and was charged with possession of child pornography, making child pornography, breaching a probation order and breaching a prohibition order, according to Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh
Lewis was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing at Saint John Provincial Court on Monday, February 26 at 9:30 a.m.
The New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, which includes members from the Saint John Police Force and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, along with the RCMP's Technological Crime Unit and Sussex RCMP, were involved in the investigation.
