The RCMP says 6-year old Connor Barthe and his 4-year-old brother Noah were found dead Monday morning after an African rock python escaped from its glass enclosure above a pet store and made its way through the ventilation system.  The snake apparently dropped down from the ceiling into the living room of the apartment where the boys were sleeping.

The RCMP initially said they believed the snake strangled the boys, but investigators now say they're waiting for the results of an autopsy before commenting further on the cause of death.

The snake was put down and has been sent to Fredericton for a necropsy.

Officials in the northern New Brunswick town say a vigil for Connor and Noah will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Salmon Plaza.

A dedication page has been set up on Facebook to honor the boys.
