Two Men Arrested for Aggravated Drug Trafficking in Maine
Two men were arrested Thursday for Aggravated Drug Trafficking and $40,000 worth of drugs were seized in Farmington.
Aggravated Drug Trafficking Charges
Police arrested 42-year-old Jason Robbins from Farmington and 39-year-old Miguel Alvarez from Webster, Massachusetts and charged them both with Unlawful Aggravated Drug Trafficking.
Drug Trafficking Investigation
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Farmington Police Department have been investigating drug trafficking in the area for the past three months.
Undercover Drug Purchases
Undercover drug purchases were done as part of the investigation, said the MDEA.
Search Warrants Executed
Both suspects were arrested after a traffic stop around 1:30 pm Thursday. Search warrants were executed for the vehicle and a residence at 111 Twin Birches Road.
Large Amount of Drugs, Firearms and Money Seized
Police seized 420 grams (14.8 ounces) of cocaine, 15 grams of fentanyl, 7 firearms and over $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds, including money used in undercover drug purchases. The street value of the seized drugs is approximately $40,000.
Held Without Bail
Robbins and Alvarez were transported to the Franklin County Jail and were held without bail.
