A 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested after a months-long drug trafficking investigation in Cherryfield and Harrington.

Man Charged with Two Counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking

Matthew Small from Harrington was charged with two counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Violation of Conditions of Release.

Woman had an Active Arrest Warrant

Marissa Ouellette from Fort Kent was taken into custody with an arrest warrant for Violation of Probation.

Controlled Purchases of Drugs

The investigation included controlled purchases of meth at 81 Wilson District Rd in Harrington and 29 Campbell Hill Rd in Cherryfield.

Simultaneous Search Warrants Executed

“Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (MDEA) Downeast Task Force along with the Maine State Police Tactical Team, simultaneously executed search warrants at both locations,” said the MDEA.

Drugs, Gun and Money Seized During Search

Agents seized cocaine, a 9mm handgun, $2,400 in suspected drug proceeds and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

Man had Prior Drug Trafficking Conviction

Small owned both properties. His charges were aggravated due to a prior drug conviction. He was transported to the Washington County Jail and held without bail.

Woman had Prior Drug Trafficking Conviction

Ouellette was apprehended on an arrest warrant for Violation of her Probation. She was serving a 2-year probation period for an Unlawful Drug Trafficking conviction in August of 2025. She was also taken to the Washington County Jail.

More Arresters Expected

Additional arrests are pending, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Lead Investigators in the Case

Investigators included MDEA Agents, the Maine State Police Tactical Team, the Washington County Sheriff's Office, US DEA and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
