A 22-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking after drugs and a gun were seized during a traffic stop in Thomaston.

Two People Arrested by MDEA and Deputies

Mariah Grover and Jefferson Jazzir Arias were taken into custody by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Mid-Coast Task Force and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents had Information about Drug Trafficking

MDEA Agents acted on information about suspected drug trafficking in Vinalhaven and on the ferry to Rockland.

Traffic Stop as Part of Investigation

A vehicle involved in the drug dealing was pulled over for a traffic stop with Grover and Arias inside.

Drugs, Gun and Money Seized from Vehicle

Agents and Deputies searched the vehicle and seized 66 grams of Cocaine, a .45 caliber handgun, $9,500 in suspected drug proceeds and items indicative of drug trafficking.

Bail set at $50,000 on Drug Trafficking Charges

Grover was charged with Drug Trafficking Trafficking (Cocaine). Her cash bail was set at $50,000.

Bail set at $75,000 on Aggravated Drug Trafficking Charges

Arias was charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking (Cocaine) with cash bail set at $75,000.

Taken to County Jail and Booked

They were both transported to the Knox County Jail and booked. The investigation is ongoing.
