The MDEA has been investigating for over two months the illegal distribution of fentanyl throughout Southern Maine.

Several additional suspects are being sought and will be charged for their roles as the investigation continues.

The total street value of the drugs seized is about $5,000. All three defendants are at the Aroostook County Jail.

A Lewiston couple are facing drug and firearm charges following their arrests Thursday at their home.

Following an investigation by MDEA Agents assigned to the Downeast District Task Force, two men are in custody on drug charges

This is the 29th response by the MDEA lab team this year.

The conservative retail value of the heroin seized during this investigation is more than $70,000, said officials.

MDEA agents and Bangor Police officers seized over two-hundred grams of heroin and one-hundred-seventy grams of cocaine base (crack) on Monday.

There's a new sheriff in the County and his name is Shawn Gillen. Sheriff Gillen was elected last year as Aroostook County's head lawman.

The MDEA  and Bangor Police executed a search warrant Monday morning at an apartment on Grant Street in Bangor.
