Police in Rocklin say the girl was upset with her parents for not letting her go online after 10 p.m., so she bought them milkshakes and crushed up a friend's prescription sleeping pills into them.

Lt. Lon Milka told KOVR-TV in Sacramento that the parents thought the milkshakes tasted odd and only drank about a quarter of them, but it was enough to knock them out for the night.

The parents were suspicious when they woke up groggy the next morning and took a drug test at the local police station, which turned up positive.  They then confronted their daughter, who admitted to drugging the shakes.

The girl and her 15-year-old friend were arrested on charges of conspiracy and willfully mingling a pharmaceutical into food.
