DEA Arrested Five Men for Drug Trafficking in Maine
Five men were arrested as part of a drug trafficking investigation led by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Controlled Purchases and Search Warrants
Agents made multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl & crack and three search warrants were executed at different locations over several days.
Two Men Arrested for Aggravated Drug Trafficking
Two men were taken into custody at 754 Pool Street in Biddeford on Tuesday. Drugs, drug trafficking items and drug money was seized.
Police charged 32-year-old Derrel Brunson from New York and 53-year-old Donald Newton from Biddeford with aggravated trafficking of fentanyl. Newton was also charged with conspiracy to trafficking in fentanyl.
Drug Trafficking Arrest
The next day, agents arrested 39-year-old Matthew Plante from Biddeford at a residence at 14 Center Street in Biddeford. Drugs and evidence of drug trafficking were seized. He was charged with aggravated drug trafficking of crack.
Two Men Arrested and Guns Seized
Two more men were apprehended Thursday at 29 Mountain View Lane in Lyman. Drugs and guns were seized.
Police arrested 41-year-old Christopher Powers-Burns from Lyman and 38-year-old Paul Kastberg from Alfred. Powers-Burns was charged with unlawful trafficking of fentanyl and warrants. Kastberg was wanted on multiple warrants.
Additional Charges
More charges are expected. The investigation remains open.
