The first World Pond Hockey Championship event was held in 2002 in Plaster Rock, and has been a fundraising activity for a new arena facility. Over 120 teams worldwide participate in the annual event; teams from Canada, the U.S. and a total of 15 countries from around the globe that have skated in Plaster Rock.

The event is about camaraderie, trading stories and hockey jerseys; not so much about being super competitive. Everyone is just out to have a good time. What’s really neat is that teams play on 20 different rinks and 40 teams are playing simultaneously!

In past years over 8,000 people have been in attendance over the course of the 4 day event! Click here to find out more about the World Pond Hockey Championship.

Are you a hockey buff that will be attending this must see event?
