STUDY – More American Women Using Pot While Pregnant

With the legalization of pot in Maine and now in Canada, an interesting study has been conducted and has shown that more American women are using pot while pregnant.

According to the study, conducted by the Journal of the American Medical Association, nearly 4-percent of women admitted to using marijuana while being pregnant.

Since 2002, that figure increased by 2.4-percent.

Although these figures may seem nominal, some researches have stated that this is a rising trend among pregnant women. However, some studies have shown that children born to a mother who used pot during their pregnancy experience lower birth weights.
