Some 2,700 Emera Maine customers were without power in Southern Aroostook County on Friday.

Emera Maine crews have been dispatched to determine the cause of an outage in and around Island Falls this afternoon that has disrupted power to 2,753 customers.

Customers in Dyer Brook, Oakfield, Crystal, Patten, Sherman and Staceyville are also affected. Line workers will work to determine the issue and restore service as safely and rapidly as possible.

Power is expected to be restored by 3 p.m. Friday.

Emera Maine encourages customers to stay clear of downed power lines and trees in contact with power lines. Customers may report outages or ask questions by calling their Customer Service Center at (207) 973-2020 or 1-855-EMERA11 (363-7211).
