Drugs Seized & Two Women Charged with Drug Trafficking in Maine

Two women were charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Canaan.

Two Women Searched for Drugs and Arrested

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office seized crack and fentanyl and arrested 28-year-old Shania Tripp and 42-year-old Krista Robinson near the Circle K.

Woman with Warrant got in Vehicle at Circle K

Deputy Allen Jones saw Tripp and Robinson getting in a vehicle at the convenience store around 11 pm Monday night.

Active Warrant and Expired Inspection Sticker

Tripp had an active warrant for her arrest and the vehicle had an expired inspection sticker.

Vehicle Pulled Over and Arrest Made with Warrant

They were pulled over on Easy Street. Tripp was taken into custody on the arrest warrant.

Woman was on Probation and Searched

She was on probation and her belongings were searched. The Deputy seized over 86 grams of crack cocaine.

Woman Told Deputy She had Fentanyl

Tripp told the Deputy that she also had fentanyl on her person.

Second Woman Searched

Robinson was also searched as part of the investigation.

Drugs Found Discarded on the Ground Near Vehicle

“Deputy Jones located a large quantity of drugs that were discarded on the ground on the passenger’s side of the vehicle that were not there when Tripp exited the vehicle,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
