According to KOMO-TV, fresh from scoring $500 at a Tacoma casino, Jim and Betty Lilja of Milton were ambushed at their home by a man in his 20s demanding their money.

The would-be thief barged into their home with his hand in his pocket and threatened to shoot if they didn't hand over their money. Jim Lilja says he told the intruder he was 85 years old, so "if you want to shoot, go ahead and shoot."

The intruder left the couple alone in their living room and went searching for the cash in the couple's bedroom. The Lilja's ran outside, Jim pushed the alarm button on his car key, which sent the robber racing out of the house and into a waiting car — without the couple's cash.
