A 38-year-old man was arrested Monday night after he pulled a metal pipe from under his sleeve when employees tried to stop him from robbing items at BJ’s Wholesale on Mount Auburn Avenue.

Suspect Pulled Metal Pipe on Employees during Robbery

Jeremy Proctor from Lewiston is charged with two counts of Robbery, Violation of Conditions of Release and Criminal Mischief.

Fled in a Waiting Vehicle

The Auburn Police Department said Proctor robbed the store around 7:11 pm. He was “leaving with a cart full of merchandise.” He fled in a vehicle that was waiting for him.

Identified by his Face Tattoos

Officers identified Proctor “in part due to his unique tattoos.”

Apprehension and Arrest

He was located around 9:55 pm on Pine Street in Lewiston. He was apprehended and placed under arrest by Auburn Police.

Suspect Brandished a Knife in Another Robbery

Proctor is also the suspect in a robbery at BJ’s Wholesale on March 16. He “brandished a knife while attempting to steal merchandise,” said police.

Previous Felony Theft

He was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail with no bail. Proctor had “active bail conditions for a previous felony theft that took place in Lewiston,” said Auburn PD.
