Aroostook Aspirations Welcomes 2017 Gauvin Scholars
Aroostook Aspirations Initiative (AAI) is proud to welcome their 2017 class of Gauvin Scholars.
This year, they welcomed 23 students from schools throughout Aroostook County. Ten Scholars will be attending Northern Maine Community College (NMCC), nine will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI), and four will attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK).
AAI’s Executive Director, Kristen Wells, is thrilled about this new group of students, and the wide range of majors the Scholars plan to pursue careers in.
"It has been a great month meeting with the new 2017 Gauvin Scholars and their families! I can't wait to bring them all together with the 2016 Gauvin Scholars during our annual Scholar training weekend in July,” said Wells. “Right from the start we all have one important quality in common – our love for Aroostook County. It's my job to help them to complete a degree and build their futures here."
