Woman Dies in Colpitts Settlement Crash

Police say a 55-year-old woman died following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Colpitts Settlement, just below Moncton.

Riverview RCMP and emergency personnel responded to the crash on the Salisbury Back Road shortly after 9:40 p.m., according to Constable Marco Savoie.

Police believe the woman's SUV went off the road, rolled over and struck a pole. The driver, who was from Colpitts Settlement, was the only person in the vehicle.  Her identity was not released.

The woman was taken to hospital where she died as a result of her injuries, Savoie said.

The RCMP is investigating the cause of the crash.
