The watch area includes Woodstock and Carleton County, Grand Falls and Victoria County and Edmundston and Madawaska County, and Fredericton and Southern York County.

The Canadian weather agency says conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

“If you hear thunder, then lightning is close enough to be dangerous.”

The notice warns residents that, "Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road."
