New Brunswick RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying two men suspected of stealing a rare parakeet from a pet store in Dieppe.

Police say two men entered the PetCulture pet store on Paul Street in Dieppe on Thursday, March 27 at around 7 p.m. The two spent several minutes in the store. After they left, employees realized a Sun Conure (Sun Parakeet), worth over $1,000, was missing.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his late 40's to early 50's with a pale complexion. He is around 5'9' with a slim build, has long, dark hair and was wearing a dark coat.

RCMP say the second suspect is a man in his 30's, possibly aboriginal. He has brown eyes and brown hair shaved on the sides. He is around 5'9' with a medium build and he was clean shaven. He was wearing a dark coat with white stripes on the arms and designs on the chest.

[UPDATE: April 7]  Codiac RCMP have recovered the stolen Sun Conure.  No arrests have been made in the theft, however.
