PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The mother of a missing Maine toddler says blood was found in places throughout the home where the girl was last seen.

The mother, Trista Reynolds, announced the investigative detail in an effort to put more pressure on authorities in the disappearance of her 20-month-old daughter.

Ayla Reynolds vanished from her father's home in Waterville in December 2011, setting off a months-long search that generated national attention but no arrests.

In a statement posted online Monday, Reynolds provides previously unreleased details she said police investigators told her about her daughter's case. Reynolds says she wants the public to appeal to the state attorney general's office to file charges.

Maine Deputy Attorney General Bill Stokes says decisions on whether to file charges are based on evidence, not public pressure.
