Investigation of Castle Hill Homicides Involves Multiple Police Agencies
The investigation into this week’s double homicide in Castle Hill continues in earnest with collaboration among Maine State Police and several Aroostook County police agencies.
Detectives and evidence technicians have been conducting interviews and gathering evidence in connection with the shooting deaths of 51-year-old Roger Ellis and 25-year-old Allen Curtis. No suspect has been named as of late Friday morning.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office has been assisting State Police in the investigation since early Tuesday morning, according to Maine Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland. Sheriff Shawn Gillen has attended many of the police briefings to update investigators on the case, and deputies have provided additional security efforts and patrols in Castle Hill and Mapleton.
Other agencies assisting investigators this week have been Presque Isle, Caribou, Limestone and Ashland Police departments as well as Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and the Maine Warden Service.
McCausland says the increased police presence in Mapleton and Castle Hill will continue through the weekend. Residents who have any concerns or information are encouraged to call Troop F of the Maine State Police in Houlton at (207) 532-5400.
