I don't fly very often.

I'm not specifically opposed, but I will admit I don't really enjoy it. I'm deathly afraid of heights, and hate long rides. Normally people don't fly anywhere they can drive to, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly for no reason. Not to mention, the amount of rules there are to follow gets a little crazier every year.

When you look at the TSA's list of things you can and cannot bring in your carry-on luggage, most of the list totally makes sense. But there's a lot to remember. things have obviously changed a lot since 9/11. On the other hand, some of the things on the list may catch some folks by surprise.

Some of the things you can bring are hilarious.

Before we go nuts looking at the list of things you can't bring, let's look at some offbeat things that are actually totally fine. For instance, you can't bring a bowling pin on the plane, but you're more than welcome to bring the ball. You can bring antlers on a plane. You can bring fake bones. Heck, you can even bring a Harry Potter wand. It specifically says so on the TSA website.

But there are many things that most of us would consider everyday items that aren't allowed at all. I expect to be told I can't bring a hammer, but I'm not always expecting that only certain kinds of screwdrivers are allowed. Some corkscrews are allowed, and yet others aren't. It's maddening, trying to keep it all straight.

So let's have a look... This list is all items that you wouldn't really pick as something that's going to cause you headaches in the TSA line. But it's probably better to know now, especially with February vacation right around the corner. So let's clear a few things up right now...
