You can enjoy a blast from the past, at this unique location!

A part of all of us died when stores like Blockbuster closed their doors. There was just something about browsing for movies to rent on a Friday night.

Do you remember the thrill of driving to get a new release? It was kind of an adrenaline rush, wondering if there were any copies left. Then you add in the smell, the candy, the thousands of titles to choose from, it just hit different, especially now that we are in the streaming age.

Yes, having Netflix and Hulu and all the other services has made life way easier, but it just isn't the same.

There is a spot in Belfast that continues to thrive, by keeping the dream alive. They take it old school...real old school.

Opera House Video, located at 109A Church Street, in Belfast, is an actual, real, live, video store, that rents DVD's, and those old relics, known as VHS tapes. They have been around since the mid 90's, and show no signs of slowing down.

In this day and age, it is truly remarkable that they continue to do this. Not only that, it is a much needed bit of nostalgia, in an ever increasing world of craziness.

If you want to relive simpler times, here are their business hours:

Monday
4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Tuesday
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Wednesday
1:30 PM - 8:00 PM

The store offers a wide selection of DVDs, Blue-Ray, and even VHS tapes to rent for three days for about $4 each. They even give you free popcorn every Friday night!

Check out their handy DVD and VHS take out window. So cool!

Go show Opera House Video in Belfast some love!

If this subject interests you, there is a must watch documentary about the last remaining Blockbuster store, which is located in Bend, Oregon. You can find it for free on Tubi.
