Fatal Accident on New Brunswick Highway

A man has died in a head-on collision this morning near Geary, New Brunswick. RCMP responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 7:25 a.m. after a pickup truck struck a tractor trailer on Highway 7, just south of Oromocto.

The investigation so far shows that the pickup was heading north when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a transport truck.  Police say the man driving the pickup truck died at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

The name of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.

An RCMP re-constructionist was called to the accident scene. All traffic between Geary and Welsford is being rerouted via Route 101 at least until early this afternoon.
