2015 Presque Isle Airport Full Scale Exercise

Aroostook County Emergency Management Agency will be coordinating a full-scale exercise in the area of the Presque Isle Regional Airport on August 15th, 2015.

The exercise will bring together responders from across Aroostook County.
Jesse Belanger, Deputy Director and Exercise Coordinator with
Aroostook County EMA explained, “The focus of the exercise is an
Airplane crash. However, the response involves many response tasks,
from Law Enforcement to regional Emergency Medical Service
coordination, to Hazardous Materials rescue and response.”
Aroostook EMA and the City of Presque Isle would like to advise
citizens of the increased traffic of emergency vehicles in and around
Airport Drive and Missile Street on the morning of August 15th, and
advises that the public steer clear of this exercise area for safety reasons.
This exercise will help train and test the readiness of a large number of
departments and teams throughout Aroostook County.

Aroostook County coordinates a number of exercises throughout the year,
with at least one large full-scale exercise annually. This full-scale training
exercise will allow numerous departments to practice their readiness and
skills in a real life scenario, and provide a basis to make necessary
improvements.
