The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to the fire at 294 Conant Road around 3:39 am.

Garage Fire Extinguished and Home Saved

The garage was on fire when first responders arrived on the scene. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and saved the residence.

State Fire Marshal’s Office Investigating the Cause of the Fire

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

Fire Caused by an Electrical Failure in the Garage

“Fire investigators determined the fire to be accidental in nature and caused by an electrical failure within the garage,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

No One Injured in Fire in Ongoing Investigation

No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
