Woodstock RCMP Make Drunk Driving Arrests at Weekend Roadblocks
West District RCMP say they have arrested three impaired drivers over the final weekend before Christmas.
On Friday evening, police conducted a roadblock on Main Street in Plaster Rock. RCMP say a 60-year old Musquash man was arrested for impaired driving at around 9:45 p.m. He was released on a promise to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on March 22, 2016.
At around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, police arrested a 58-year-old man from Tobique First Nation for impaired driving at a roadblock on Main Street in Tobique First Nation. He was released on a promise to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on March 22 as well.
Saturday night at around 10:00 p.m., a 28-year old Weaver man was arrested for driving while impaired at a police roadblock on Highway 105 in Kilburn, N.B. He was released on a promise to appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on April 5, 2016.
During this holiday season, West District RCMP would like to remind the public to plan ahead and always designate a sober driver. Impaired driving is the number one criminal cause of death in Canada. Call 9-1-1 immediately if you suspect someone is driving while impaired.
