It's the fun of a scavenger hunt combined with the excitement of the Amazing Race.

Wintergreen Arts Center and the University of Maine at Presque Isle are partnering to send you off on a Wild PI Goose Chase this summer. This event, Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to noon, promises fun for the whole family.

The idea behind the Chase is for people of all ages and ability levels to explore Presque Isle and having fun using mobile technology to perform several challenging tasks. There will be three categories to the event: walkers/runners, automobiles and non-motorized wheels. Participants can go solo or as a team. Prizes will also be awarded to top individuals or teams.

The Wild PI Goose Chase starts and ends at the soccer field at Riverside Park in Presque Isle. Registration begins at 8 a.m. next to the soccer field. If you register early, it's $25 for a team of up to four people. $40 for a team greater than four people. After June 30, registration increases to $35 and $50.

Funds raised from the Wild PI Goose Chase will go to help support all programming at Wintergreen Arts Center, including the After School Arts Program, as well as UMPI’s Empty Bowls benefit and Visiting Artist Program.

Course maps will be available at check-in on Friday, July 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Wintergreen Arts Center, and on Saturday, July 27 starting at 8 a.m. next to the soccer field at Riverside Park. You can Register at www.umpi.edu/wildPIgoosechase or in person at Wintergreen Arts Center in Presque Isle.
