United Way of Aroostook held its annual Presque Isle Pageant on Saturday, March 31st at the Presque Isle Middle School Auditorium under the direction of Jolene Kinney, Nicole DiVito, and Betsy Fitzherbert.

Five young ladies vied for four titles at the event emceed by Jason Parent, CEO of Aroostook County Action Program and Sherry Locke, Executive Director of United Way. The evening was an exciting one, filled with talent and elegance.  Again, this year, United Way and the pageant committee are donating all proceeds from the pageant to the City’s Playground Project.  In combination with last year’s pageant, $5,000 will be donated to the cause.

The evening crowned Lydia Smith the new, 2018 Mini Miss Presque Isle. Lydia is the 6-year-old daughter of Alisha and Zach Smith. She is in Kindergarten at Pine Street Elementary.

The new 2018 Little Miss Presque Isle is Natalie Putnam.  Natalie is the 6 1/2-year-old daughter of Kristina and Cole Putnam. She is in 1st grade at Pine Street Elementary School.   Natalie performed a vocal selection at the pageant.

The Junior Miss Division crowned 14-year-old Danica Haskell as the new 2018 Junior Miss Presque Isle.  Danica performed a dance routine as part of her talent competition.

Two young women competed for the title of Miss Presque Isle. Kaci Bates is the 17-year-old daughter of Destini and Marty Bates.  She is a Junior at Presque isle High School, and for her talent she performed a dance routine. Mayce Kinney was the second contestant in this division.  Mayce is the 17-year-old daughter of Kim Kinney and Jirad Kinney.  She is a Junior at Presque Isle High School. Mayce performed a vocal selection for her talent. Miss Kinney was crowned the new 2018 Miss Presque Isle.

The four new queens will represent Presque Isle and United Way of Aroostook at several community events throughout the coming year. The Little, Junior, and Miss Queens will also represent Presque Isle at the Maine Potato Blossom Pageant this summer.
