Not even a year after the Aurora movie theater massacre, police officers shot and killed a suspect inside a townhouse after a standoff lasting hours.

Inside the home - police officers discovered three dead bodies. The identity of the shooter and those of the bodies have not been confirmed yet.

At 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, SWAT teams were called to E. Ithaca Place where a suspect had barricaded himself and was keeping people hostage. After hours of negotiating, the SWAT team fired tear gas inside the house. The suspect fired at the SWAT team’s cars. The officers fired back.

When officers entered the house, they discovered the bodies. It has been confirmed that the three people were shot and killed before the SWAT team arrived.

Only one woman was able to escape the townhouse. She has been treated for some injuries at a local hospital.
