It was an epic battle in 2007 - Kanye vs 50 Cent - who would have the highest-selling album. Check out how it started, listen to the best songs & see how the bet played out.

With over 950,00 sold, Kanye West's album, Graduation beat out 50 Cent's Curtis in the fight to be the best selling album. 50 sold just under 700,00 copies.

The singles are a similar story. 50 Cent had some airplay success while Kanye exploded with "Stronger." The song was mixed down over 75 times to get it just right. It hit #1 and was all over the radio.

Although he promised to not record anymore, 50 Cent did not retire. He said he would only work on other artist's albums - he kept recording. Here are the fighting words he said to SOHH.com:

They would like to see Kanye West give me a problem because I’ve worked my way into a space where I’ve become the favorite. Everybody roots for the underdog when he goes against the favorite, put it like this, let’s raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11th, I will no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums."

The biggest song off Curtis was "Ayo Technology" with Justin Timberlake. It hit #5 on the charts.

Kanye West is worth $130 million. 50 Cent is worth $150 million - although 50 recently filed for bankruptcy. 50's Vitamin Water deal made him around $150 million alone.
