A local man was arrested Friday morning for allegedly threatening a woman at a home in Blaine.

The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office received a report of a domestic disturbance around 6 a.m., according to a news release from Sheriff Darrell Crandall.

Deputy Reid Clark was assigned to the investigation and determined that 50-year-old Mark Tompkins of Blaine had threatened a female victim at the residence. Deputy Clark arrested Tompkins for Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.

Tompkins posted bail and is scheduled to appear in court in Presque Isle on December 23.

Maine State Trooper Patrick Pescitelli assisted in the investigation. Sheriff Crandall said the victim will not be identified.
