Two Iconic OOB, Maine Locations Set To Open For The Season
Two of the greatest, most iconic businesses in the State of Maine, are ready to serve you!
Part of the fun of traveling during summertime, is eating delicious food, and if you just happen to be hanging at OOB, on a hot summer day, you get to sample two legendary dining spots.
Friday, May 2nd, will mark the 93rd season opening of Pier Fries, and the 76th opening of Bill’s Pizza, right in the heart of Old Orcahrd Beach, Maine.
Hours for the first few weeks will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm. Once Mother Nature starts to cooperate, they will go full time, most likely during the third week in May, running all the way through Labor Day.
Pier French Fries, has been serving the best french fries in the state, for decades.
Their tasty crinkle-cut fries are one of kind, and people come from all over to get a taste. Best of all, they use locally grown New England potatoes.
What makes it stand out?
The variety of toppings are second to none, but to me, the true way to eat them, is with malt vinegar, but nacho cheese, chilli, and poutine style, are all crazy popular as well.
Bill's Pizza, located right near the beach, at 12 Old Orchard Street, is the place to go for incredible pizzas made with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors.
On any given summer day, there is a line of hungry customers on the sidewalk waiting for their turn at the take-out window. No trip to the beach is complete, without grabbing a slice.
Some popular options include classic margherita and specialty pizzas.
Bill's Pizza has a 4.2-star rating on Tripadvisor, with many reviewers praising their pizza.
