Man Killed, Woman Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash Near Tracadie
Tracadie RCMP say a man was killed and a woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 11 near Six Roads, N.B.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a car crossed the centre line around 1:30 p.m. and collided with a transport truck hauling logs, according to Sgt. Marc Beaupré. The driver of the car, who is from Cantons de Basque, died at the scene. A female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, Beaupré said. The driver, a 27-year-old woman and two children under the age of five, who were also in the car, were not injured.
The driver of the transport truck lost control of his vehicle following the crash and went off the overpass dropping to the road below. The 43-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for what police called “non-life threatening injuries.”
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.
