Grand Falls School to get Multi-Million Dollar Upgrade

The New Brunswick government is investing $3.4 million to complete repairs and upgrading at Polyvalente Thomas-Albert in Grand Falls. 

Premier Brian Gallant says this is the final phase of a multi-year project that began in 2013.

Repairs at the school include upgrades of laboratories, replacing chalk boards with white boards, replacing interior and exterior doors, painting, and repairing damaged asphalt.

Gallant says the Grand Falls project is expected to contribute about $5.4 million to New Brunswick’s GDP and create 75 jobs.

Previous construction phases included replacing the gym floor, new washrooms, new drainage systems and plumbing upgrades. The total cost of the multi-year project is $8.3 million.

Polyvalente Thomas-Albert, located at 215 Guimont Road in Grand Falls,  was commissioned in 1969 and has a student population of about 580.
