On Wednesday, firefighters were called downtown Fort Kent to put out a burning building. The building is now completely destroyed but the owner remains strong. See the shocking video.

At about 9 a.m. two Valley Auto employees heard a ‘cracking noise’ and the next thing they knew the building was on fire. Within minutes, firefighters from several different crews were at the scene. Soon members of the community also showed up to pitch in.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the attic and since the building was built in 1920 the wood was old, which made the fire burn faster. The car dealership owner, Carl Theriault and his wife Pat, are looking into reopening their business at a new location soon.
