Maine Drug Enforcement Agents made several arrests in Houlton this afternoon following a drug bust.

MDEA Division Commander Darrell Crandall says drug enforcement agents arrested two suspects from Delaware for trafficking in cocaine and Oxycodone. 32-year-old Paul Lovett of Felton, Delaware and 50-year-old Melanie Major of Milford, Delaware were arrested by MDEA Agents on US Route 1 in Houlton following a traffic stop.

Aroostook County Crimestoppers received a tip this morning that Lovett and Major had been in the Fort Fairfield area selling cocaine. After a search of the vehicle, agents found cocaine and crack cocaine valued at over $4,000 hidden inside a DVD player in the back seat. 42 Oxycodone tablets were seized from Major and $1,067 cash was found on Lovett.

Lovett has been charged with Class B trafficking in cocaine, while Major has been charged with Class B trafficking in cocaine and Oxycodone.

Bail has been set for both suspects at $10,000 cash. If convicted, both suspects face up to ten years in prison. MDEA Agents were assisted by Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers.
