One way to support local organizations when looking for a new pet is to stop off at the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle. They have pets that are looking for a forever home.

The pet of the month's name is Bandit. He's 4 1/2-years-old. He's an active coon-hound, chick-hound mix and ready for adoption.

The good thing about getting a pet from the Central Aroostook Humane Society is that all the pets are spayed and neutered.

And Bandit is no exception.

Bandit has been housebroken, which means he knows to go potty outside, but may not be a good fit for families with small children and cats as he is a very active boy.

One of the things that Bandit enjoys is that fact that he likes to go for rides in the truck. He does prefer to ride 'shotgun', but then again, who wouldn't, right?

If you're interested in meeting Bandit or adopting him, please contact the Central Aroostook Humane Society at 207-764-3441 or swing by between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday.
