A Year Later Mainers are Still Looking for Missing Toddler Ayla Reynolds

Last year on December 17, the state troopers issued an Amber alert for a missing toddler - Ayla Reynolds. Reynold, only 20 months old disappeared from her father’s home. Her case remains unsolved.

Ayla, a blue-eyed toddler, with a beautiful smile was reported missing by her father. At first the FBI and state troopers thought that Ayla was abducted from her bedroom, but soon physical evidence pointed in a different direction.

Ayla’s blood was found in her father’s home, where two other adults were staying at the time of her disappearance. At this time her father refuses to further cooperate with the investigation.

But Ayla’s mother - Trista Reynolds hopes that she will one day get answers about her daughter's disappearance.

"I'm trying to keep in the spirit of things,"  Reynolds said. During a recent interview with ABC News, Ayla’s mom, now also a mom of a toddler boy, admitted that she is seeing a therapist to help her move on. But she admits she takes it day by day.

Since Ayla’s disappearance, police have canvassed Waterville and surrounding areas but their search hasn’t uncovered much.

Reynold’s says though others might have given up - she hasn’t and still hopes that her daughter is alive.
