A Family of Seven Escaped Injury in House Fire in Greenfield, NB
A pre-dawn fire destroyed a house in the rural community of Greenfield, New Brunswick, a few kilometres north of Florenceville-Bristol.
An extended family of seven escaped injury but lost their home and belongings. The fire, at 749 Greenfield Road, was reported at about 4 a.m Thursday.
Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross have assisted a couple, their daughter and son-in-law and three young grandchildren, according to spokesman Dan Bedell.
The Red Cross is providing emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases while they await a damage assessment by insurers.
