Houlton police arrested, Ryan Doody, 36, from Woodland at the Shiretown Inn for possession of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs and violation of conditional release.

Police officers responded to a call in Shiretown Inn where they found Doody and four others engaged in illegal narcotics activities. In the hotel room, police officers uncovered a 9mm handgun, ammunition, two propane tanks, a knife, an EBT card that didn’t belong to anyone in the room, receipts, drug paraphernalia, a laptop, a bong, cellular phones and syringes.

Doody is booked on a possession of synthetic hallucinogenic drugs, a violation of conditional release, trafficking in prison contraband, a sale and use of drug paraphernalia, and refusing to sign a uniform summons and complaint.

One of the police officers involved in the drug bust, was reported to have inhaled bath salts during the arrest. He experienced tightness in the chest and sinus pressure. The officer was taken to the Houlton regional hospital for a check up as a precautionary measure.
