Woman Sentenced to 15 Years for Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 43-year-old woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearms possession in Maine.
Sentenced for Drug Trafficking and Gun Charges
Mandy Shorey from Peru, Maine was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
180 Months in Prison
She was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 180 months with five years supervised release.
Sold 1.5 Kilos of Meth to Undercover Officer
Shore sold over 1.5 Kilos of meth to an undercover officer between July 2022 and January 2023. Three of the buys involved pure meth close to 100%.
Gun in her Waistband during Buy
“During one of the buys, Shorey explained that she carried a firearm with her for protection when she met with new drug customers and removed the firearm from a bag and placed it in her waistband,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
“Bring One Armed Man to Back Me”
Court records said “During another exchange, she told the undercover officer that meeting her to conduct their next transaction would be safe because she would “bring one armed man to back me up that they will never see, just in case.”
Gun in her Possession when Arrested
Shorey was in possession of a Charter Arms .22 revolver when she was arrested.
FBI Investigated Maine Case
The FBI Safe Streets Task Force investigated the case.
