Maine’s annual fall turkey hunt is getting underway in most of the state.

Its wild turkey’s that is legal to hunt this time of the year of either sex or any age. Wild turkeys can be taken via archer or shotguns from now until November 7th.

Parts of northern Maine are close to turkey hunting but the rest of the state is open to a one or two bag limit. Depending where you are hunting depends on the bag limit. Most of the southern parts of the state are where the two bag limit is but check with local authorities for local limits.

According to pressherald.com early October is also the start of the hunting season for ruffed grouse, bobwhite quail and pheasant.
