Two snowmobilers were rescued and one missing person was later found safe after falling in a river in Rockwood Friday afternoon.

Three Snowmobiles in the River

Rockwood Fire & Rescue said three snowmobiles were reported to have gone in the water at the mouth of Moose River around 2:30 pm.

Two People Saved and One Missing and Located

Rescue crews pulled two people from the water and one was still missing. The third person was later found safe.

Rescue Team

The Maine Warden Service was involved in the search effort. Assisting on the scene was the U.S. Border Patrol and EMS with Northern Light C.A. Dean Hospital.
