Two Men Seriously Injured after Head-On Collision in Maine
Two men were seriously injured Monday morning after a head-on collision on Route 4 in Auburn.
Vehicle Hydroplaned and Crashed Head-On with SUV
Police said 36-year-old Albert Deschaine from Peru, Maine was driving a Chevy pickup truck when the vehicle hydroplaned, crossed the centerline and crashed with a Toyota SUV driven by 78-year-old James Halliday from Auburn.
Driver Ejected from SUV
The man in the pickup was ejected from the vehicle and had serious injuries. The SUV driver was in critical condition.
Transported to the Hospital
Both men were taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Halliday was then transported to Maine Medical Center.
Speed and Road Conditions are Factors
Auburn Police said “speed and road conditions do appear to be contributing factors in this crash.” The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
