Two Killed, Two Critically Injured in Shemogue, N.B. Collision
The RCMP is investigating a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday near Shemogue, New Brunswick that claimed the lives of two men and sent two women to hospital with critical injuries.
Shediac RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 15 at around 3:50 p.m., according to Sgt. Alice Desroches. The preliminary investigation indicates that a westbound SUV carrying four people, was attempting to pass when it collided with another SUV making a left hand turn into a private driveway.
Two men in the passing vehicle, an 82-year-old from Kedgwick River and an 82-year-old man from Ontario died at the scene, police said. Two women from Kedgwick, ages 69 and 80, who were also passengers in the vehicle are in hospital in critical condition.
Police say the two occupants of the SUV that was struck, a 36-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, both from Moncton, were treated at the scene.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation.
