July 28 – Trooper Quint responded to Portage for a family fight to remove a female and while there female reported being sexually assaulted the day before. Tr. Quint began investigating the incident but the victim is uncooperative and being difficult to locate.

July 28 – Tr. Eric Sucy responded to a report of an assault in Bridgewater and before his arrival, the suspect, Francis Murray, age 43, of Mars Hill, left the residence in a car. Moments later Tr. Sucy met Murray in the vehicle and attempted to stop him to speak to him about the assault. Murray refused to stop, leading Tr. Sucy on a several mile chase from Bridgewater to Mars Hill on Rt. 1 with speeds reaching 80 mph. As Murray reached Mars Hill, the chase was ended with Troopers using a tire deflating device and vehicle immobilization to disable Murray’s vehicle. Murray was then arrested after a brief struggle. The investigation is ongoing with Murray facing several charges of refusing to stop, operating under the influence, operating while revoked and also assault and violation of a protection order.

July 28 – Tr. Lilley assisted Tr. Sucy with the domestic violence investigation in Bridgewater and discovered female had several outstanding warrants under two different names, female was arrested without incident. There was also a male subject passed out at the residence and it was discovered that the male had gone to his probation meeting that morning and after the meeting had immediately started drinking until he passed out. His probation officer was advised.

July 30 – Tr. Endre arrested a 57-year-old Smyrna man for OUI at his residence after seeing him operate and pull into his driveway. Tr. Endre stopped to talk to the man whom he’d dealt with intoxicated before and found him to be intoxicated again.

July 30 – Sgt. Haines responded to a family fight on the East Chapman Rd for a report of a couple fighting. The male reported the female had a handgun strapped on her side and he wanted her removed before something bad happened. Investigation revealed no crime had occurred and both parties were intoxicated and arguing. The female was removed for the evening and did have a loaded 9mm handgun on her hip which was secured until she sobered up.

July 30 –  Tpr. Darcy charged a female from Macwahoc with Operating after Suspension as the result of a traffic stop at the Sherman Irving.

July 30 – Tpr. Darcy charged a Stacyville man with Operating Without a License, Attaching False Plates, and Possession of a Usable Amount of Marijuana as the result of an investigation in the Sherman Irving parking lot.

July 31 – Tr. Casavant stopped a car in Caribou for a tail light out and as a result arrested a Limestone man and Caribou woman on outstanding warrants.

July 31 – Tr. Marquis assisted Fort Kent PD on a fatal motorcycle crash involving three bikes racing that all crashed. One person was killed and the other two injured.  More details here.

July 31 – Tr. Bell assisted U.S. Customs at the Houlton Port of Entry with a family that missed the exit on their way to Madawaska. Agents found marijuana and paraphernalia in the possession of a juvenile. The mother, and driver, was found in possession of diazepam pills and her driver’s license was suspended. The mother admitted that the pills were not prescribed to her. The mother was charged with unlawful possession of schedule Y drugs and operating after suspension.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
