
Three People Charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking in Maine
Three people were arrested and charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking after fentanyl and crack was seized in Bangor.
Three Arrested after Drug Investigation
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency apprehended 48-year-old Joseph Rusaw from Holden, 37-year-old Meaghan Sulinski from Holden and 20-year-old Geiser Baez from the Dominican Republic.
Two Arrested and Drugs Seized
During the investigation, Agents made a controlled purchase at a hotel in Bangor. Rusaw and Sulinski arrived to deliver the drugs and were arrested. The MDEA seized approximately 38 grams of fentanyl, 29 grams meth and 3 grams of crack.
Search Warrant for Drug Source
“Information garnered from the arrests led Agents to a different Bangor hotel where they believed the source of the drugs was staying,” said the MDEA.
Third Suspect Tried to Flush Drugs Down Toilet
Search warrants were obtained after surveillance of the motel room. Baez was found inside trying to flush fentanyl down the toilet. Agents seized approximately 349 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 grams of crack and $1340 in suspected drug proceeds. The street value of the drugs was estimated at over $40,000.
Aggravated Drug Trafficking
All three were taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged. The charges were aggravated by drug weights.
