7/28 - Tr. Monahan responded to Linneus for a request to have a female removed from house that was trespassing. After investigation, female was arrested for trespassing after she was warned by Tr. Monahan to leave and she refused. The complainant was also arrested for violation of conditions of release after she was found to be in possession of medication and also for testing positive for drug use. Both females were transported to ACJ.

7/29 - Ashland PD requested assistance with a vehicle failing to stop in Ashland. The 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was followed at relatively low speeds from Ashland to Mapleton where Tr. Casavant took over the pursuit. Speeds slowly started to increase and Presque Isle PD set up with a spike mat near the airport on Route 163. The operator, later identified as 18 year old Joshua Fraser of Presque Isle, intentionally struck a telephone pole and lost control striking another motorist parked behind the roadblock. No one was injured during the incident. Fraser was also the driver and his vehicle subject to a search warrant in a criminal threatening incident on 7/25 involving a Bangor Daily New delivery driver.

7/30 - Tr. Sylvia investigated a theft on the Fletcher Rd in Monticello. The victim’s son witnessed the theft and still they waited an hour to make the report to law enforcement. The case remains under investigation.

7/30 – Tr. Clark responded to a car vs. Amish horse and buggy crash in Easton. Despite the buggy having 5 occupants, no one was injured. The side-swipe crash took place just over a hill in the roadway. This was the third crash involving an Amish buggy in the last 5 months.  PHOTOS HERE.

7/31 - Tr. Casavant investigated a threatening complaint in Monticello. One man allegedly threatened to run the other off the road. Both men are in their 50’s and the threats started after one man told the other man’s mother he was smoking marijuana. The case remains under investigation.

8/01 - Troop F Troopers attended a Use of Force/Defensive Tactics refresher class put on by Sgt. Scott Hamilton at the Mars Hill High School Gym.

8/01 - Tr. Lilley took report of 15 yr. old female that wouldn’t return home, female was later located by family and returned home. While writing the report, Tr. Lilley couldn’t find information on the mother who reported the incident, Tr. Lilley did some searching and discovered that the mother had given him an incorrect last name, apparently to cover the fact she had a warrant. Tr. Lilley returned to the residence the following day to arrest the mother.

8/02 - Tr. Whalen responded to Perham for report of an assault. Male subject had gone to Cary Medical with serious facial injuries sustained in an assault while at a party. Investigation revealed that two brothers had assaulted the male while at the party, both were charged with assault. Investigation ongoing into the party and possibility of further alcohol related charges.

8/02 - Tr. Monahan responded to Bridgewater for a report of an assault. After investigation, juvenile female was taken into custody on a probation hold and also charged with assaulting male victim by striking and kicking him repeatedly and also striking him with a vehicle.

8/02 - Tr. Darcy arrested a Sherman man on a warrant for unpaid fines.

8/02 - Tr. Darcy responded to a crash on the interstate in Dyer Brook. The driver swerved to avoid a dead animal in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the driver went off the roadway approximately 20 feet into the tree line. Both occupants of the vehicle had on seatbelts and were not injured.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. In addition, the Troop patrols Interstate 95 from Sherman to the Canadian border in Houlton.
