7/21 - Tr. Darcy received a third party, late report of a Domestic Violence assault that had taken place in Crystal. The female victim was scared to call the police because of the threats her boyfriend had made to kill her and her family. Troopers Darcy and Bell interviewed the victim at a residence in Patten. Troopers Darcy and Bell arrived at the male’s residence in Crystal and took him into custody without incident. The male was charged with DV assault and DV terrorizing. The male had a prior DV conviction. The D.A. elevated the charge to aggravated assault before the male’s arraignment.

7/23 - While working on an unrelated family fight, Troopers Saucier and Sylvia came across a car off the road. They made arrangements to have the vehicle towed. Later in the evening, another car was reported stolen from the same neighborhood. The second car was located in Houlton by Border Patrol, and Tr. Sylvia responded and arrested the operator for the theft and OUI. The suspect confessed and implicated a second male, stating they had stolen the first car together and went into the ditch when they heard the siren and saw the blue lights as the Troopers were responding the family fight call. The two men took off from the crash scene on foot and one ended up stealing a second car. The case remains under investigation until the second male is located, interviewed and arrested.

7/23 - Tr. Michaud stopped a vehicle in Mapleton that had been a suspect vehicle in a burglary he had investigated in May. The stop and subsequent investigation resulted in a 24 year old male being charged with burglary, theft, aggravated criminal mischief, operating after suspension, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Just prior to the stop, the individual had pulled out of a residence that had been for sale. Tr. Michaud located stolen copper in the trunk of the vehicle, and the subject admitted to breaking into the residence and tearing the copper out of the basement.

Casavant was called out after the Houlton RCC received a 9-1-1 call from a Bangor Daily News delivery driver reporting he and his wife were threatened at gunpoint and chased by a red 2004 Pontiac Grand Am occupied by several men and a woman. Troopers Doody, Sylvia, Flynn, Levesque and Sgt. Haines joined in on the investigation and as a result, two search warrants were executed at a residence in Mapleton and another on a vehicle in Presque Isle. Firearms and other items of evidence were seized. Five people of interest were identified and interviewed. Two men were arrested and a third was charged and released to his parents. Of the men arrested, one is a juvenile and the other is 18 year old Brandon Green of Chapman. State Police were assisted with the investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

7/25 - Tr. Marquis arrested a 61 year old Fort Kent man for OAS.

7/25 - Tr. Darcy was off duty in his POV and called Tr. Lilley to report a vehicle in front of him was operating erratically. Tr. Darcy followed the car to a nearby restaurant and stayed with them until Tr. Lilley arrived. Investigation revealed marijuana and paraphernalia and male subject was summonsed for the offenses.

7/26 - Tr. Levesque responded to a report of a MV accident in Connor. Male subject had taken a car from his friend without permission or knowledge. A short distance after stealing the car, he lost control and went off the road into a steep ravine. Car hit several trees and rolled onto its side against a large tree a few feet from the river. Male then fled on foot but was located later and brought to Caribou PD. Male was charged with OAS, leaving scene of PI accident, theft by unauthorized use of property.
